The 2017 Mead Class will be held Saturday November 18 at the Tierra Learning Center, Main Lodge, 12000 Sunitsch Canyon Rd, Leavenworth, WA 98826, we will start at roughly 3:00 PM.
New this year: We are going to include a light food item, soup probably, along with cheese/crackers/nuts/veggie snacks.
Please note: When registering for the event, make sure to fill out the number of mead kits and Attendees during registration, orders will be based only on these numbers. You can contact me and I can adjust the invoice if you make a mistake during registration.
There is only one event near Leavenworth that weekend so it should be quiet. IF traffic is backed up I suggest taking the bypass through Peshastin.
This years costs will remain the same. $20 per person for the class, this will cover our cleaning/miscellaneous costs and food. $15 Per kit, will cover our costs + shipping on the kits.
The kit will consist of a 1 Gallon Glass Jug, Airlock/Bung, Screw Cap for transport, and a siphon hose.
You are welcome to bring your own equipment as well as your Meads from previous classes for tasting/feedback and racking.
This is a basic level class, covering mead making and fermentation in general, as well as some racking and bottling instruction.
Due to restrictions this year we can only offer this to club members + guests. All Guests must be accompanied by a member.
If you want to make mead during the class you will need a minimum of 3 pounds of honey per gallon, and any spices/additives you would like to include. We will provide water, yeast, sanitation supplies. If you need honey let us know, and you can bring extra honey to sell/trade to others that may need it that night.
